World history through maps - one map for every year of recorded history.

World History Maps: The World, by World History Maps Inc, is a new and unique way of looking at history. Instead of an historical atlas which has maps showing the world (or a region) at a few significant years, or maps that try to compress decades or even centuries of change on to one map, we offer a different approach. Our interactive historical maps show the entire world for every single year in recorded history. This is an unprecedented amount of detail in time for the whole world that cannot be found anywhere else. The scalable maps allow even the smallest countries to be shown. Looking at History in this detail gives one a unique perspective. These are also the first historical maps to be made using GIS technology. Maps show countries of the world at the beginning of each year, with Major Tribes and Peoples. Maps are Scaleable and zoomable with popup information. Scrolling forward and backward is available with adjustable speeds. Maps can be pinned so you can toggle back and forth to compare different years. Following below are more details about how to use the apps.Geographic labels64-bit Android supportMaps through 2020Bug fixes and improvements

Why are you showing annexed territory of Ukrainian Crimea as a part of Russia? Do you want to talk de facto? Then show Pridnestrovya in Moldova and occupied parts of Eastern Ukraine too. Our world must see who is the invader in XXI century and what he does to his neighbors.

I'm happy with this useful app, didn't regret that 4 Euro investment in my education! Makes all those nationalist quarrels about state borders so pointless. My suggestions: 1. Make any bookmarked or at least the latest country borders visible as a background for orientation (e.g. like the geographical shadow option). 2. Make slider and buttons insensitive to dragging of the map and pop-ups. Good work!

Best app for this out there! Super useful and interesting!

The interface is very rudimentary, pretty hard on the eyes. The maps are good though, with extensive data. Could be a little clearer for zooming (considering its required to read some small text) but over gets the job done. EDIT: please please please increase the resolution of the country borders. Slightly longer loading is fine but this blurriness is out of hand (zoom until you can read the text in Spain at 1040, you can barely make out the borders)
